About the Practice
Dr. Evan Sorokin founded Delaware Valley Plastic Surgery, PA in 2003. Dr. Sorokin went to college at Cornell University and then attended medical school at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia. After medical school he moved to Dallas, Texas where he studied plastic surgery at University of Texas, Southwestern, widely regarded as one of the best plastic surgery training programs in the country.
After training with the true plastic surgery giants of the country, Dr. Sorokin felt comfortable opening his own practice and moved back to Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He opened his original office in Marlton, New Jersey. In Marlton, he treated large numbers of emergency lacerations, hand fractures, wounds of all sort, and began to develop a broad plastic surgery practice. Reconstruction is the basis for most learning in plastic surgery as if you can repair an eyelid on a child mauled by a dog, you can rejuvenate an eyelid that is aging.
While working in Marlton, Dr. Sorokin hired his sidekick Alisha, a scrub technologist who was working at Virtua Hospital. He would do his cases at the hospital and got to know her as the surgical assistant. Realizing that she was an excellent scrub tech who made his cases go smoother and seeing how she helped in the operating room, he hired her as a private scrub. They saw patients in the office together and traveled to the hospitals for surgeries. They rounded on post operative cases and Alisha developed a deep understanding of plastic surgery as the practice continued to grow.
Over the years the practice has continued to evolve and staff has continued to grow. Dr. Sorokin believes in hiring staff who follow the golden rule of “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” It is a very close knit group of support staff that takes pride in the care we provide.
In 2010 we moved to our new office in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. As part of this move we built a AAAASF accredited operating facility in house. In addition we have a state licensed lab for preoperative testing and Dr. Sorokin’s goal was to make everything one stop shopping and convenient. With this move to a larger facility, support staff numbers have grown, but we have tried not to lose the importance of treating patients like friends and family.
Alisha’s position has morphed over the years to patient liaison and office manager. Ashlee has been with us for over 5 years and well over 2000 surgeries as a scrub technologist in the operating room. Having staff that know the ins and outs so well makes a huge difference!
Case load has evolved to two separate areas of focus. Dr. Sorokin does mostly breast and body contouring surgeries as this is what he enjoys most. He certainly does an excellent job with facelifts, eye lifts, rhinoplasties and all things plastic surgery; however, he prefers to do cases that he enjoys the most such as breast enhancement, abdominoplasty, and liposuction. The other major portion of the practice is non-surgical including lasers and injectables. We have many lasers including hair removal, tattoo removal, facial resurfacing, and fat reduction. In addition he performs Botox and fillers such as Juvederm and Restylane literally on a daily basis. Patients are very happy with their results and the variety always presents Dr. Sorokin with some excitement each day.
Several years ago we added skincare to the practice and our aesthetician Dayna has a deep knowledge of skincare. There is probably nobody out there that has a passion for skincare like Dayna and she takes on each and every client with unparalleled energy. This is not your average store-front facial but rather a caring experience supported by medical grade products with a plastic surgeon for medical components.
The office is located in Cherry Hill on Route 70 (Marlton Pike East), just moments from where 295 meets Route 70. This is about 10 to 15 minutes depending on traffic from Philadelphia. We are easily accessible from all areas of New Jersey.
Dr. Sorokin and his staff are committed to providing high quality care every step of the way, from your initial consultation to the final follow-up visit on your road to recovery.
